I just deleted roughly half of the communities that I was following and it felt really good. Sure, there are still 40+ communities that I'm following, many of which haven't posted for a year or so, but it's much better than 80+ communities, so I don't care. I really want to feel fresh and creative, and looking at all those communities that hadn't posted since 2010 or 2011 was not helping.

I was sad to see how many icon challenge communities - you know, the whole 20 icons in 20 days - have shut down. If you know of some communities that are still up and running, feel free to throw their names at me. I'm not going to start joining every community that's still alive, but I wouldn't mind one or two more...

Oh God, I can already feel the number rising past 50 again...

Why look, I'm actually alive! I don't think I'll start using this journal regularly, but I will try to post every once in a while. Right now, I'm actually trying to make a custom mood theme, even though I know it'll take a while. I'm also going to try and still make icons every once in a while, either random or for challenges. I've still been making icons in the meantime, I just haven't been posting any.

If you would like to see more of me, you can always check out my Sim livejournal instead or my personal or Sim Tumblrs (you can find the first two links in the top sidebar). Otherwise, keep checking out this place every once in a while and see if I've actually written something!

OK, this is yet again about color20in20. I put up sign-ups for round 4 about a week ago, and no one had signed up, so I was going to close the round and try again in a month or so. Some signed up today, though, and I don't want to close it if there's at least one person who wants to participate. Of course, without at least two entries, there's not much of a point for voting, so it'd be really helpful if at least one more person signed up! So, if you like participating in 20in20 communities and making stock icons with the theme of the same color, head on over to color20in20!

This is another post reassuring that I'm still here. I haven't found much to do with this journal recently, but I have been busy in other places. One of those places is my 20in20 community, color20in20, which I'm trying to revive. In order to do that, though, I'm looking for a co-mod. I put up a post about it on the community, but in order to get more attention about it, I figured I could mention it on some other journals. So, if you'd be willing to help me out as a co-mod, go here to check it out!
And, now that I've reassured anyone who reads this that I'm still around, I'm off to be busy elsewhere and hope that I think of something to do with this journal!

I knew I hadn't updated this recently, but I hadn't realized how long it had been - over a year. If you've been to some of my other LJs (my sims journal and my review journal) you would know that I haven't disappeared completely, but I just haven't had much reason to post here. Hopefully I'll post more. Plus I think I might want to get back to posting icons, something else I haven't been doing lately. We'll have to see - school is gettin ready to end, and college starts next year (scary!), so I don't know how much I'll be around. Mostly this is a post so that the calender in the sidebar isn't still on March 2011...

Day Four: A song that makes you sad

When my grandmother died, I played this song on a constant loop, so I always associate this song with that sadness. Then the music video for this song came out, and my heart broke seeing the part about an elderly man who lost his wife. The music video may have a bit of a happy ending, and the song may be a good one, but I can no longer even bear to hear any of it, let alone listen to the whole thing, without tearing up and rushing to change the song.

Day Three: A song that makes you happy

Something about the happy, upbeat tune and the funny way the guy in the video (Luke Conard from Ministry of Magic), plus the fact that I love Lily and James Potter from the Harry Potter series, makes me smile when I hear this song. Plus, I recently became obsessed with this band, so it's no real surprise that hearing one of their songs makes me happy. Expect to see lots of their songs in this meme.

Day Two: Your Least Favorite Song

I'm not a fan of Miley Cyrus at all, but this is the song that I really can't stand and that used to get played on the radio all the time. From the first moment I heard it and disliked it to all the times my friends would sing it and get it stuck in my head, I've never been a fan of it. Whenever I heard it on the radio I would practically throw myself at the radio to change it. And whenever it gets stuck in my head, it's there for a while. I was so glad when they stopped playing this 24/7, and if I never here it again, I'll be happy.

It's been so long since I posted on this journal - sorry about that! In order to start posting here again, I decided to start up another meme, this time a music meme. I know that I wasn't always consistent that last time, but this is just for fun so I'm not going to stress if I don't post every single day in one month. But, for now, enjoy this (hopefully) posting spree.

Day One: Your Favorite Song

I love this song so much, have for a while, so I just had to use it as my favorite song. I love how this music seems to work for whatever mood I'm in - whether I'm sad, mad, glad, or energetic. I'm not sure why it works so well for all of those things, but it does. I didn't like Avril's third CD as much because it was so different from the style of her earlier music, like this song. (Luckily, her latest CD seems more like her first two CDs). But luckily I can still crank this up on iTunes whenever I feel like it - which is a lot, of course!

Here's what's to come...Collapse )

I'm not sure how much I'm going to use it, but I made a journal for my writings: thefaerielights. Not exactly original but I wanted to keep my name without keeping it all on the same journal so when this was available I snapped it up, glad that it was almost identical to this journal name. I want to create a story that's just for fun for that journal.
That's really all I can think of to say right now. Exams are coming up so I've been busy trying to force myself to study, plus I have plenty of icons to make - luckily I love making icons!
